THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Gladys (Chaney) Stiglitz, 93, of Stephenson, MI., passed away Sunday, July 6 at the Luther Home in Marinette.
Born Sept. 6, 1920, in Lake Township, Mi., to Edward and Miranda (Barnes) Chaney, she married Anton Tony Stiglitz at Lost Lake Covenant Church Sept. 12, 1942 . He preceded her in death on April 4, 2010.
A homemaker, she enjoyed painting, drawing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and traveling out west, but above all, her most joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Lost Lake Covenant Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Penny Stiglitz and Pam (Mark) Ksionsk, both of Milwaukee; a son, Dan (Barb), of Escanaba, Mi.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Stiglitz and eight brothers and sisters.
Family and friends may call at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 9 at 4 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 6 p.m., with Rev. Andrew Stonina officiating. Burial will be in Lost Lake Cemetery on Thursday, July 10 at 11 a.m.
