Letter to Editor:
This letter is in regards to the so called propane shortage this past winter and the very bad business actions of Customers Gas Service.
I know that in writing this I also speak for my husband and I also know that these are some of the thoughts of many other Customer Gas customers.
In January, when we first became aware of a propane shortage, I called Customers Gas Service to have them deliver propane to us, which we had already paid for. I was told that there was a shortage and they would only be able to deliver 100 gallons. I assumed we would have propane in a few days as that is how it usually happened. Days turned into weeks and then months. We have still never received not even one gallon from them.
At the beginning we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. We really thought that since we had been a loyal customer for many years, that surely they would somehow fulfill our contract.
My husband not only stopped at their office but also called their business sometimes two or three times a week to ask when we would get some propane. The office girls always assured him that eventually we would get propane. When he asked to talk to the owner they always said he was busy with another customer and that he would return the call, which he never did. Currently the phone is not in service so now we cannot contact them at all.
I would really like to know how these people can live with themselves knowing how much financial pain and suffering they have caused so many of their customers.
Where did all our money go? We are out $447 and many people are out even more than that. With the economy the way it is many of them are really struggling to find the money to put propane in their tanks. Many of the same people lived in some very cold conditions during the coldest winter in most of our lives.
I have always been under the impression that when we pre-bought our propane it was so the company could buy ahead at a lower cost and store it for delivery in the winter months. So again I say, where is our money? NO propane and NO money!! I call that a lose, lose situation!! And, why was this the only company out of propane? All the other companies were still able to provide propane for their customers.
I find it hard to believe that there is nothing we can do to get our money returned to us. The way we understand, even taking them to court will not force them to have to repay the money. That doesnt seem fair to me at all. You would think they would do the honest and decent thing and return everyones money!!

Are we the people an enemy of our own government? The police wear paramilitary uniforms, there are cameras up all over, and your phone, e-mails may be monitored.
Recently, the Sheriffs Department requested $280,000 for a Lenco BearCat eight-ton armored vehicle. What has occurred or what does the Sheriffs Department anticipate will occur that it needs an armored truck?
There was an instance about five years ago that the sheriff requested Green Bays BearCat when they were looking for some confused guy with a rifle in the woods off Miles Road.
The sheriff said at that time how he would like to have a BearCat. Now hes asking.
I dont like seeing the police in paramilitary uniforms and I surely dont see a need for an armored truck for $280,000.
How about using that money for something the public could benefit from, like free camping and boat launching for a summer?
