THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
From our readers
Issue Date: July 17, 2014
This is for all the people that come up into our beautiful Northwoods in Marinette County. When you come, leave the fireworks at home. We can tolerate and accept them on the 4th of July but I think that is only one day! THEN when you want to shoot guns all day and half the night use the shooting ranges that are located in nearly every town!
You have to realize we live here for a reason and it is for the quiet and the wildlife. As of now we have neither of these anymore. Weekends we like to sit outside and listen to the birds but that stops as soon as the shooting starts. We used to have wildlife but they quit coming in also.
Have some respect for the people that live here, please. We dont come to your neighborhood and shoot guns and should not have to put up with it here either. Also, you may not believe this but we have jobs and a lot of people work weekends. Staying up all night listening to all your noise sure doesnt let us have a good nights sleep.
Please be considerate. We come in the house when the shooting starts. I was nearly shot while hanging up clothes on the line one time. The feel of a bullet going by your head is not a pleasant feeling so now afraid to be outside when guns are shooting. Why should we have to sit inside our homes on weekends so that you can come up here and just ruin it.
Our only quiet time is 4:30 in the morning so we sit outside and have our coffee then!!
