MI Fire Dept. Picnic, Open House Is Aug. 9
The Middle Inlet Volunteer Fire Department will host their 14th annual fund raising picnic and open house on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. The picnic will take place at the Fire House, located on Cty. X and Highway 141 in the Town of Middle Inlet. Youngsters will stay entertained with several kids games and waterball contests and adults will enjoy raffles and the paddle wheel. Music will be provided throughout the day. The Firemans Waterball Contest will begin at noon.
Raffle tickets are $1 each or 7 for $5 and are sponsored by Gateway Bar & Grill. Winners need not be present. Tickets are available from any firefighter, as well as area businesses. First prize is $500, 2nd $300, 3rd is $200, 4th-6th $100 each and 7th-10th are $50 each. In addition, thanks to many donations, many fine prizes will be awarded.
The food booth will sell brats, burger, hot dogs and kettle corn. Refreshments will include beer, soda, wine coolers, and bottled water. Also featured, will be a Bake Sale.
The primary purpose of the picnic is to provide financial support to the Middle Inlet Fire Department. This is the only fundraiser for the year. The committee thanks members, volunteers, businesses and everyone who helped to make the event a success.
