Richard H. Huisman, 67, of Townsend, passed away Thursday, July 24 at Unity Hospice in DePere.
He served the Wabeno School District as a teacher, principal for 12 years and the Superintendent of Schools for 13 years. In post-retirement, he spent a brief period as an interim director of CESA 8 and interim Superintendent of Schools of Suring Public Schools and an additional year as interim Superintendent for the Wabeno School District.
A Navy Veteran, Appleton City Counselman, member of the Wabeno American Legion and the Wabeno Lions, he was a caring and a loving person, who will be missed.
He is survived by his mother, Vivian (Schmidt) Huisman; wife of 45 years, Clarice (Adams) Huisman; sons, Jeffrey (Kristi) Huisman and Steven (Jackie) Huisman and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard G. Huisman.
A Memorial Celebration will be at held at Madonna Hall (St. Ambrose Catholic Church) in Wabeno at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Cancer Research in his memory.Weber-Hill Funeral Home of Wabeno assisted the family with arrangements.
