SC Fire and Rescue Finalize Picnic Plans
The Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary met in the Town Hall on Monday, Aug. 4 to finalize plans for their 37th annual parade and picnic set for Saturday, Aug. 9.
Cindy Jonet, a member of the Holt and Balcom Logging Camp restoration and preservation committee, invited the group to tour the museum and see a video presentation of the history of the camp located in Lakewood.
President Dee Farley presided and read thank you notes from Pastor Fred's Food Pantry, Amberg and the Christian Food Pantry, Townsend for the $250 donation each got from the Auxiliary. A membership group picture was taken.
The parade on Saturday will begin at 10 AM at the Silver Cliff Campground, with line up by 9:30 AM. Participants wishing to be included in the float competition should contact Parade Marshal, Paul Farley at 715-757-3922 prior to the day of the parade.
The picnic starts at 11 AM and will conclude with an all cash raffle drawing at 6 PM.
Part time and full time Silver Cliff residents are invited to help in the booths. If interested call Dee Farley at 715-757-3922.
Items for the Country Store can be taken to the picnic grounds on Saturday morning. If questions, call Sue Vandenberg at 715-757-2864 or Sandy DeGoey at 715-757-2077. Park cleaning and picnic set up will begin at 8:30 AM on Friday, the day before the picnic and clean up will be on Monday morning, Aug. 11 at 8:30 AM.
