Barbara J. Simons, 67, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, July 26 at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital, after a 7 month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born Oct. 28, 1946, to Julius and Dorothy Behnke, in Marinette, she graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1964. After graduation, she joined the Womens Army Corp. She married James Dal Santo in Marinette and they had four children. The couple moved to Milwaukee where she worked in the office of Star Sprinkler and Ashland Chemical until her retirement in 2009. She married John Simons in 1992 and he preceded her in death Nov. 11, 1994.
She had a green thumb, enjoying her plants and flowers and looked forward to getting her Corvette on the road each Spring.
She is survived by three children, Troy and Jeffrey (Jenn), of West Allis and Heidi (Bob) Leisle, of Oak Creek; two sisters, Judy Buechler (Dennis Dubey) of Menominee, Mi. and Marjorie Garrigan (Pat), of Peshtigo; three grandchildren and her companion and partner of 20 years, James Drzewiecki.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents and an infant child.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 4 at Joseph E. Sass Funeral Home in Milwaukee, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Milwaukee.
