THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Todd E. Johnson
Todd Eric Johnson, 50, of Pound, passed away Friday, Aug. 8.
Born to Ken and Eugenie (Genie) Johnson, he grew up on the family farm along with his sister, Heidi and graduated from Coleman High School in 1982. As a youth, he helped with the summer activities of farming. After graduation, he pursued a degree in motorcycle mechanics and graduated with honors from Gateway Technical College.
His mechanical and engineering talents were evident at a young age as he created battle ship models and erector sets. He enjoyed the thrill and the speed that snowmobiles and dirt bikes offered and he also enjoyed snow and water skiing with friends.
He enjoyed conversations about music, politics, philosophy and history and also had a unique sense of humor. His feline friends added smiles to his days, but his greatest joy was spending time with friends. He maintained a strong friendship with Tammy, whom he was hoping to visit in the near future.
He is survived by his mother, Genie; a sister, Heidi (Bill) Gossen; nieces; a nephew; numerous aunts; uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ken, who passed away earlier this year.
Relatives and friends may call at the Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Coleman on Thursday, Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Gregory Stahlecker officiating. A pot luck luncheon will follow at the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Hall in Coleman.
