Alice E. Bowman
Alice E. (MCallen) Bowman, 101, of Mountain, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Born to, John and Lily (Waltho) MCallen, on Feb. 3, 1913, she married Bernard Bowman on Dec. 15, 1929 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Lakewood. The couple lived in the Mountain area all their lives where they farmed, owned and operated a grocery store and she drove school bus. A member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Suring, she worked hard and was very dedicated to everything she did.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan (Glenn) Harris, of Mountain; a son, Jerry Bowman, of Mountain; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard in 2005; two sons, Kenneth and Bernard Jr. and 11 siblings.
Visitation was held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 9 a.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. with Sister Marla Clercx officiating. Interment will be in Mountain Cemetery.
