Issue Date: August 20, 2014
Rand R. Lange, 59, lifelong resident of Peshtigo (Grover) passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Born July 18, 1955, he was the son of Mylon and Janet (Hartwig) Lange. He graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1974. On June 5, 1976, he married Jeanne Drewery at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Grover and they celebrated 38 years of marriage.
Rand was an avid marksman and trap shooter and enjoyed shooting for Northwood Flooring at various area shoots. His love of the sport was something he passed down to his grandson, Joran. Known for his appreciation for anything and everything John Deere, he was given the nickname John Deere by friends and family. His nieces, nephews and grandchildren all spent many hours riding around the farm fields with him. One of his proudest accomplishments was the ability he had to get a crying child asleep before even finishing one round on the field. Rand was a 35 year member of the Grover Porterfield Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Tara (Chris) Neville; 3 grandchildren, Abby (special friend, Cody Ferron) Joran and Shayna Neville; his siblings, Mark (Sandy) Lange, Janice Holder, Kevyn Lange and Karyn (Scott) Berg, all of Peshtigo; 7 nieces; 6 nephews; and his beloved pet, Minnie.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, mother and father-in-law, and a brother-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.
