Thunder Back On Track With Two Wins Over Marquette

The M&M Thunder played their first home games since Nov. 4 on Sunday and the team made the most of it, sweeping the Marquette Midgets in two games.
The Thunder scored four goals in the first period to run away with the first game 9-2. Wesley Knutson had four assists to go along with a goal. Cade Fernstrum had three goals and Alexander Freeman had two goals.
Ethan Koch, Justin Netemeyer and Brandon Bruning each had goals. Zack Wailin had an assist.
Niya Patneaude started in the net and saved 15 of 17 shots on goal. She has split time with Braeden Park on the season.
Park started the second game of the day and posted a very similar line, saving 15 of 18 shots faced.
Knutson scored three goals in the second game. Jordan Carvenough and Justin Netemeyer each scored goals as well. Matthew Swenson had two assists and Jason Bowers had one.
Brandon Bruning spent 14 minutes in the box and Freeman spent 12. In the first game, Knutson was in the box for 12 minutes and Adam Mejdoub spent 10 minutes in the bin.
Marquette plays two games against the Negaunee Iron Range Midgets on Saturday before two games at the Keweenaw Midgets on Sunday.
