Susan Carol Grabowsky, 75, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba where she resided for the last three years.
Born on Dec. 25, 1942 in Menominee, to the late John and Mildred (Garrigan) Grabowsky, she graduated from Menominee High School and received a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Northern Michigan University. She worked as an Elementary teacher and later a High School English teacher and also worked for the Menominee Intermediate School District. After her teaching career, she became an addiction and substance abuse counselor. She was also proud to help her parents in the the family business, Grabowsky Fish Net and Twine in Menominee.
A kind and generous person, she put others needs before her own, spent her life helping others as a former Sister of St. Paul de Chartres and through her various careers. She enjoyed music, playing the piano and was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
She is survived by many cousins and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Birch Creek from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with Fr. Michael Ocran officiating. Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery in Spring. Donations can be made to the Bishop Noa Home. Cadieu Funeral Home of Menominee is assisting the family with arrangements.
