Eleanor Mary (Gordon) (Carlson) Schelk, 95, of Oconto, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 at Sun Valley Home in Oconto.
Born Sept. 12, 1923 in Oconto, the fourth child of James and Thressa Gordon, she married Gunard Carlson and they enjoyed 43 years together until his passing in 1986. She later married Fred Schelk, until she again widowed in 1997.
She lived in Menominee, Mi., Green Bay and Oconto through her years of marriage. In 2016 she chose to move to Sun Valley Home Assisted Living in Oconto as her final residence.
She will be remembered by family and friends for her love of the Lord and Church. Devoted to her family of five children, she was an exceptional baker and her baked goods were enjoyed by all. Being a homemaker was her chosen career.
She enjoyed music, reading aloud to her children, collecting recipes and favorite poetry and playing table games, but mostly having family gathered around her table.
She is survived by a son, Duane (Debbie) Carlson; four daughters, Karen (Ivan) Buck, Gloria Wilde, Gladys Baun and Cheryl (Jeff) Jensen; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild due in June of 2019.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys; a brother, Orval; a sister, June (Larson) Borchert and two sons-in-law, Terry Baun and Gary Wilde.
Visitation will be on held at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1414 Shawano Ave., Green Bay on Thursday, Jan. 10 from 2 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 4 p.m., with Pastor William Ochs officiating. Pfotenhauer Funeral Home of Green Bay is assisting the family with arrangements.
