For Coleman, five pins led the way. Peter Kuchta started the match with a 2 minute, 59-second pin of Thomas Ullmer at 160. Cole Klimek (182) pinned Kody Bradley in 2:53, Cameron Kimmell (106) pinned Bradley Nellis in 2:49, Raymond LeMieux (113) pinned Owen Nys in 1:13 and Brady Gross (126) pinned Alec Bergelin in 5:57. It wasn't all pins for the Cougars, who were challenged on the night in several matches.
Tyler Blanchard (170) beat Reece Piontek by 2-1 decision, Coby DenRuyter (195) beat Eagan Babiash by 2-1 decision, Brody Zahn defeated Luke Abrahamson by 4-3 decision. Karson Casper also beat Lucas Soquet by 10-5 decision at 145.
Owen Kinziger won by 16-0 tech fall over Cole Czarneski at 152 and Chance Gruber (132) won by forfeit for Coleman.
Denmark's nine points came from a 1-0 decision win by Brett Soquet over John Nowak at 120 and Ethan Schwartz (138) pinned Will Bieber in 3:04.
As a consolation, Denmark would win three exhibition matches: Nys (113) pinned Lexus Baars in 3:49, Ullmer (160) beat Ramiro Cortez by 12-3 major decision and Jonah Goetsch (195) pinned Sawyer Seefeldt in 2:59.
Marines Drop NEC Match to the Irish 63-15
Freedom's wrestlers defeated Marinette 63-15 on Tuesday.
For Freedom, Carsten McHugh (132) pinned Shayla Diaz in 1 minute, 43 seconds, Nathan VandeHey (138) beat Isaiah Walker by 12-5 decision, Ben Bredael (152) pinned Josh Walker in 5:56, Reece Manteuffel (170) pinned Domenic Paradiso in 1:31, Troy Nabbefeld (182) pinned Dakota Cuff in 4:11 and Hayden VanCamp (285) pinned Darik McMahon in 3:16.
Freedom won five forfeits as well. Brady Bock (106), Landon Wautier (113), Ben Wagner (120), Derek Kleuskens (195) and Lucas VanGrinsven (220) were all unopposed.
Marinette's 15 points came from a forfeit win by Cole Vargo (126), a pin from Owen Suennen (145) against Jack VanRossum in 1:41 and Jonny Bieber's 6-5 decision win over Justin Vosters at the 160-pound weight class.
Rhinelander Sneaks Past Lena on Criteria After 36-36 Tie
Things finished all square between Lena and Rhinelander in a matchup Wednesday evening, 36-36.
In live matches that counted toward the team score, Lena took four of the seven wins, with a couple of quick pins as well. Rhinelander would get the official team win with one less forfeit.
Jackson Dahin (182) pinned Kaeden Pillar in 35 seconds, Dylan Comins (113) pinned Kyle Weise in 5 minutes, 31 seconds, Luke Misco pinned Delaino Zivko in 44 seconds and Kevin Chang pinned Tanner Schmidt in 11 seconds.
For Rhinelander, Cole Lehman (152) pinned Franky Umentum in 52 seconds, Cayden Neri (160) pinned Nathan Younger in 3:36 and Hugh Wiese (132) pinned Sam Marquardt in 1:18.
Lena's Josh Kristoff (170) and Cody Dellise (195) won by forfeit, as did Rhinelander's Ben Sinclar (220), Owen Kurtz (285) and Robert Schramke (138).
The teams would wrestle 10 exhibition matches to get some extra work in as well.
Rhinelander won six of those 10 matches. Neri pinned Umentum in 3:36 at 152 and Michael Thomas at 170 in 2:26,
Rhinelander's Pillar pinned Jon Conine in 1:58 at 182, but was pinned by Josh Kristoff in his second exhibition of the day in 10 seconds.
Also for Rhinelander, Joe Evenson (220) pinned Dahin in 5:01.
For Lena, Dellise (220) pinned Evenson in 10 seconds, Comins (113) pinned Tanner Schmidt in 11 seconds and Chang (132) pinned Schramke in 1:49.
Panthers Get Ruffed Up in N.E.C. Matchup With Tigers
The Wrightstown matmen defeated Oconto Falls 54-16 on Friday.
Oconto Falls' 16 points came from wins by Graeson Pankratz (113), Landon Budz (120) and Clayton Whiting (182).
Pankratz pinned Riley Verbeten in 30 seconds, Budz beat Kyler Verbeten in a 15-0 technical fall and Whiting beat Logan Koel in a 23-7 tech fall.
For Wrightstown, Everett Koltz (106) beat Garrett Ganter in a 10-0 major decision, Jacob Durocher (126) beat Jaden Ganter by 2-1 decision, Kaden Verbeten (132) beat Luke Trepanier by 15-2 major decision, Kaiden Koltz (138) pinned Anthony Trevor in 1:06, Nick Alexander (145) pinned Dylan Thomson in 1:14, Isaiah Pennenberg (152) beat Jeremy Caldwell in a 13-9 decision, Ethan VandeHey (160) beat Trevor Schindel in an 8-0 major decision, Austin Koltz (220) pinned Zach Fonder in 57 seconds and Quincy Klister (285) pinned Mitchell Kallies in 39 seconds.
Wrightstown's Logan Summers (170) and Daniel Van Eperen (195) each won by forfeit.
