Marjorie J. (Dzurick) Rupert

Marjorie Jean (Dzurick) Rupert, 91, of Marinette, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at her son's home in Evansville, Ind.

Born May 10, 1929 in Racine, to the late Joseph F. and Ella E. (Rompf) Dzurick, she grew up in the depression and lost her mother at age 7 and her father worked in the industrial trades. At age 17, she moved to Marinette to live with her sister and brothers. She married Arba Rupert on June 16, 1951.

She enjoyed raising her family, was instrumental in making sure her children grew up in the faith and they all were active members of Bethel Lutheran Church. She loved participating in Church activities such as quilting club, altar preparations and the Church Board.

She earned her GED and graduated with her son, James, in 1972 walking the aisle as an adult graduate. She continued her education earning a degree in bookkeeping after all her children left home. She was a self-learner and enjoyed investing in the stock market with her sons and daughter. She also enjoyed sewing, needle crafts and music, especially songs of faith. She was a voice of wise encouragement to all friends and family.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ella (William) Housley of Madison, sons, James (Deborah) of Menominee, Mi., Michael (Joanne) of Troy, Mi., Steven (Martha) of Evansville, Ind. and Ronald (Brenda) of Clyde, Oh.; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arba James Rupert in 2015; a sister, Geraldine Rommelfanger and three brothers, Robert Dzurick, Willard Dzurick and Richard Dzurick.

Both a Memorial in Menominee and a graveside service at Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette will be held at a later date. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family. Condolences can be made online at www.hansenonionmartell.com
