Letter to Editor:

A huge thank-you to everyone that donated and/or purchased in support of the Crivitz Music Department’s latest fund-raising efforts! From the Club’s Choice Sale, to Partylite Candles, to the Fruit/Wreath sale, to the Concert Raffle and Cookie Walk - all were successful efforts to help raise funds to send the Choir to Chicago over the weekend, and the Band to New York in April!

Such events could not have happened without the community’s generosity, as well as the helping hands of others. Many parents and community members came together to organize and run each event and their help is much appreciated! Thank-you and Happy Holidays!

Dear Editor:

Thanks to the Walker budget, my taxes for 2011 went down $324. Thanks to the Walker budget, Wisconsin is now fiscally sound instead of sinking toward bankruptcy. The people of Wisconsin who voted for Walker, knowing what he stood for, are to be congratulated because they faced painful choices and came down on the side of fiscal responsibility. Oh that Washington would do what all responsible citizens have to do—balance the budget. Oh that voters would demand of their legislators fiscal responsibility. Evil (run away spending) prevails when good men and women do nothing to stop it. Think, when you cast your ballot or don’t vote. Are you for the United States of America sinking in red ink like Greece and Italy or a strong country rising from trillions in debt and jobs returning to our shores.

Are you out of money this Christmas?

Are you feeling discouraged and blue?

Cheer up, my friend, be happy

For there’s something you can do.

Give a gift that’s more important,

That money cannot buy,

The gift of love and caring,

Is one you can supply.

Tell your children you love them,

Give them hugs and kisses galore.

What gift could be more precious?

Certainly not one from a store.

Show your loved ones they’re important,

Encourage them day by day.

It’s not the things you give them,

It’s the encouraging, kind words you say.

Call a friend that’s lonely,

Always keep in touch,

Are just a few kind words

That could mean so very much.

Visit those that are sickly,

Offer a little prayer.

An expensive gift is nothing,

Compared to being there.

Lend a helping hand

to a burdened soul today.

Your gift of help to them,

Will mean more than words can say.

Send a loving letter

To someone feeling blue.

To that dear one that’s lonely,

It’s a priceless gift from you.

There are many other precious gifts

That only you can give.

For God Himself gave them to you,

To give, each day you live.

To the Editor:

I am going to make this short and to the point. I used a Fish community service for over a year. But there have been times they could not find rides or they would make excuses for the drivers so I would have to reschedule my appointments.

I recently had two appointments in the same day. A morning blood work appointment and a doctor’s appointment in the afternoon. I was told one driver could not take me to both so I hung up the phone in anger because I have gone through this before.

She called back a day or two later and my mom made it very clear that the senior van would take me to the lab appointment. I got home after going on the senior van and I waited until after 3 p.m. to find out no one showed up. That to me is inexcusable.

Because this appointment was made in advance and she, as in the volunteer, cancels out my ride for the afternoon thinking I have a ride for them. The senior van only runs half a day on Tuesdays, not all day. They have to be back at 2 or 3 p.m. the same day. I have chosen not to use them because of their mess up.
