Wagner Board Acts On Loan, Budget Increases Loan, Board of Review to court, resignation and snowplowing were among items of business when the Wagner Town Board met Tuesday, Dec. 11. Excused was Supervisor Allen Sievert.
Attending were Linda Fronsee, Bill Woodward, Mike Caylor, Steve Renikow, Public Works Jim Hickey, Lynn Hickey, Don Willan, Linda Goldschmidt, Dale Goldschmidt, Phil Jones, James Hasselstrom, Fire Chief Wade Fronsee, Todd Hermes, Ken Joy, Kurt Konell, Anne Biernasz, Darcy Diercks, Linda Love, Bank North Loan Officer, Jim Wortner and Marc Roggizewski, both of Road King Excavating, Peshtigo.
During the public comment period, Mike Caylor reported receiving a lot of positive feedback about the new more reflective fire signs in the Town.
Public Works Jim Hickey said installation of new fire numbers has been completed for the winter and will resume in spring. Also, recycling is holding steady and residents should continue to recycle.
Supervisor Dave Setunsky stated the first snow storm required plowing and many residents had asked questions. He said it was the first time roads were plowed by Road King Excavating which is trying to familiarize how the Town would like plowing, sanding and other work done.
Fire Chief Wade Fronsee reported the department had no fire calls in November and that the 17th Annual Sportsman’s Raffle was held Nov. 24 at the Heritage Inn. Raised was approximately $3,000 for the Fire Department.
The Department has also received a DNR grant for $1,650 to purchase new fire equipment.
Chairman Bill Weissgerber reported that a case before the Board of Review is going to court. The law firm of Coggins & Wolfe have been retained to represent the Board of Review.
Budget adjustments increased the revenue of the capital reserve loan by $75,000 and the reserve contingency by $360, hiking the disbursement of capital reserve CD by $70,000 the apparatus by $5,000, and reserve contingency by $360.
Budget transfers were made with the result of increasing revenues by $2,212.28 and increasing disbursements by $2,212.28 for end of year clean up.
Clerk Melissa Christiansen reported Mickie Ebbinger, longtime town hall housekeeper, gave her resignation effective Jan. 15. Anyone interested in taking over the duties can call the Clerk at 715-927-7902 or send the town a letter of interest with qualifications to Town of Wagner, W2379 County Road JJ, Wausaukee, WI 54177 by Friday Jan. 11 when the Town Board will make their decision.
In other action, the Board:
* Approved a capital reserve loan of $75,000 from Bank North.
* Was informed the new start up date for the Twin Island Road project is 2014.
* Approved minutes of the Nov. 13 Board meeting and financial report of the treasurer.
* Discussed tire recycling program with no action taken.
* Set the next regular Board meeting for Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 6 p.m.
