14 Christmas Trees Light Up Triangle Park
Frigid temperatures did not deter over 125 adults and children from attending the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Triangle Park in Peshtigo on Saturday, Dec. 7th. The annual event, organized by the Peshtigo Area Chamber of Commerce, included 14 sponsored trees from the Klitzke Tree Farm. They were decorated by area businesses including Bank Mutual, Peshtigo Pharmacy, All American Dream Homes, Berman Family, BPM, Edward Jones, Dr. Orear Dentistry, WPS, Allied Health, Stephenson National Bank and Trust, United Technologies Aerospace Systems, Peshtigo Girl Scouts, Peshtigo Womans Club and the Emergency Rescue Squad.
I love this time of year, with all the twinkling lights and Christmas spirit in the air. The community involvement was remarkable, from the business decorations, to the choir, to the childrens hard work on the coloring page. It was an event to be remembered, said Vicki Lange, organizer. Many people came together to make it a success and my thanks to all those who donated and volunteered.
Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus were also a highlight and posed for many pictures with children. Christmas music, provided by the Peshtigo High School Concert Choir under the direction of Cyndee Giebler, sang prior to the tree lighting. Those who braved the cold were treated to hot chocolate and cookies donated by Lees Family Foods in Peshtigo and the Peshtigo Chamber of Commerce. Children also submitted Christmas tree coloring pages in exchange for an ornament or candy cane provided by the Peshtigo Chamber and the Peshtigo Pharmacy. The Chamber thanks Vicki Lange, her family and Rebecca Schoenebeck of BPM for their time and effort in organizing the event.
