Lorna M. Behrend
Lorna M. (Menor) Behrend, 75, Allouez, passed away peacefully into eternal life surrounded by her family at the Jack & Engrid Meng Unity Residence on February 5, 2014. She was born June 11, 1938, in Marinette, the daughter of August Menor and Laura (Polzin) Menor Walters. On October 19, 1957, she married Kenneth Behrend at Zion Lutheran Church in Peshtigo. Lorna had worked at the phone company in Milwaukee, H.C. Pranges, Moore's Business Forms, Tebos Smart Shop and Naus' Clothing Store.
Lorna loved camping, fishing, boating, her flower gardens, Christmas decorating, cooking fabulous meals for family, making homemade bread and watching the Green Bay Packers. She always looked forward to her summertime visits with her sister and brother-in-law, Bev and Lou. Lorna loved having her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, neighbors and special friends, Don and Marge Bins, stop in for a visit.
Lorna will be deeply missed by her two children, Karla Georgia and her husband, Duane, Green Bay; Amber Wagner and her significant other, Mick Williams, Peshtigo; her grandchildren, Matthew (Jamie) Georgia, Green Bay; Jaclyn (Andrew) Voigt, Green Bay; Ross (Brittney) Wagner, Stephenson, MI; Ashlie (Charlie) DeSmidt, Crivitz; her six great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Lou Atti, Largo, FL; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband of 56 years, Ken, on Jan. 25, 2014; her mother, Laura (John) Walters; her father who died when Lorna was just a child, August Menor; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Evelyn Behrend; a brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Shirley Menor; a sister and brother-in-law, Alorice and Orv Sterzing; a brother-in-law, Eugene Dahlen; nephews, Rex Dahlen and Warren Menor Jr.
Visitation was held on Sunday, Feb. 9th from 1 to 3 p.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the church with Pastor Paul Schleis officiating. Burial was held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Green Bay. Proko-Wall Funeral Home assisted the family.
