Town of Wausaukee Closes Road for Special Event

Wausaukee " At the Town of Wausaukee monthly meeting June 11 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall Sup. Dennis Taylor made a motion to close part of Pike River Road and Freele Road for Firecracker 5K on July 7. Jeff Engelmann said that road construction was started and Scott Construction will be in the Town for mid-July.
A liquoe license was approved for "Bear Point Yacht Club". Bob Jicha made a motion to accept proposal from Williams Painting to patch and coat roof of Town Garage and Hall for $6500.
The Board discussed the Wausaukee Business Association letter about Clerk Stumbris. She presented a "Fire Number Applicaiton Form" for review on how to manage invasive plants on roadsides. She also received a letter from the insurance company requesting the town provide copy of State Statute or ordinance that allows the fire department to bill accident victims. Jicha will respond.
He met with different members of area churches to give them update on status of Evergreen Cemetery maintenance of roads and buildings. The need for members is a main concern for the July 9 meeting.
Members also present were Sup. David Tomasino, Treasurer Sally Hultquist, Clerk Cheryl Stumbris. Absent was Sup. Kurt Stumbris. Others present were Bob Wesolowski and Hilbert Radtke.
The financial report was approved. The balance on hand as of May 31 was Checking $23,796.59, and MM General Account $313,590.94.
