Delmer Joseph (Slim) Moriva, 87, passed away June 20, 2019. He was residing at Rennes Health Care Center-East in Peshtigo, Wi.
Delmer was born to Elmer and Lorraine in Boscobel, WI on March 29, 1932 and graduated from Muscoda High School in 1951. He married Maddaline E Dobbs in 1951 and had five children.
Delmer was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Korean War. While in the Army, he was awarded the Korean Service Ribbon w/1 Bronze Star, a National Defense Service Medal, a United Nations Service metal and a Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation.
Delmer owned his own siding company for many years in Menomonee Falls, WI. He sold that company and started a new company in the Madison area. After retiring in 2001 he continued working in the trades in the Muscoda area. Due to failing health Delmer moved to Crivitz, WI in 2017 to live with his son. Delmer loved to hunt and fish with his buddies, son and grandsons and enjoyed playing cards.
Delmer is survived by his 5 children, Tony Moriva (Mary A), Crivitz, WI, Hope O'Gorman, Muscoda, WI, Robin Mueller (Rick), Pardeeville, WI, Brenda Kamin (Michael), Menomonee, MI and Lori Moriva, Muscoda, WI. Delmer had 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; many sister-in laws; nieces; nephews and friends and his brother, Clarence Moriva, Three Lakes, WI.
Delmer was preceded in death by his sister, Anita Recob (Virgil); brothers, Donald Moriva and Richard Moriva; 3 grandchildren, Rachael Moriva, Michael Kamin Jr. and Joseph Kamin. Also preceding Delmer was Maddaline Moriva-Sherman and Son-in-law, Michael O'Gorman.
The family wishes to send many thanks and well wishes to the Heartland Home Health Care Hospice team, especially Robin and Sabine, and Rennes Health Care Center-East Nursing Home and his Roommate, John Overman and Family.
The family greeted relatives and friends at the Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, 801 George Street in Crivitz on Monday, June 24th from 2-4 PM with the service at 4 PM, with Father Frederick Sserugga officiating.
