Kathleen "Toots" (Heckel) Thoune, 86, of Stephenson, Mi., passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Roubal Care and Rehab Center.
Born Aug. 10, 1932 in Menominee, Mi., to the late Fred and Carrie (Hansen) Heckel, she married Lloyd Thoune on April 11, 1953 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Stephenson, Mi. A homemaker, she also worked as a waitress at the Belgiumtown Restaurant.
She enjoyed gardening, working on their farm, planting flowers, sewing, quilting, crocheting, baking for her family, going shopping and listening to country western music.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Lloyd; two daughters, Barb Strahl and Dorothy (Dwight) Thoune and two sons, John (Janice) Thoune and Frank (Jo) Thoune, all of Stephenson; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Jim Thoune and a son-in-law, Richard Strahl.
Visitation was held Monday, July 1 at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Menominee from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon at Precious Blood Catholic Church. Burial followed in Stephenson Township Cemetery.
