Lena Announces Lunch Price Hike

Lena"At the Lena Board of Education on Monday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. approval was given to give the fuel bid to Lena Fast Stop at $.08 below the posted price as presented. Jeff Heimke said eyeintheskysports.com link can be used to seek videos of basketball, volleyball and wrestling events. This will be a new addition for the sports program.
Lunch price hikes were elementary $2.70, and MS/HS $3.20 as presented.
Also approved was WIAA Senior High membership renewal as presented.
The Alternative School Coordinator contract was given to Dan Auer at $43,900.
High/Middle School Principal James Torzala said the NHS is considering purchasing an AED for one of Oconto counties patrol cars. Mollie Jones' uncle was saved by the only one in the county on May 17. She checked with Officer Herald and he has one.
High School had 55 students receive honors for the fourth quarter and the Middle School has 72 students. Summer program underway and painting and cleanup began, Pride pump check was $3528.22, The Lena Fast Stop was thanked for the donation.
Summer school numbers have been between 115 and 125 students.
Administrator/Elementary Principal Ben Pytleski received a thank you card from Jann Sharpe on her retirement as Alternative School Coordinator. He spoke at the NORTA luncheon about current education trends. He spoke on safety trainings that have been completed and summer school had great numbers. Dirt City will have another event July 27 weekend with an added feature of fireworks. Kinziger Golf outing is Aug. 5. He will not be available for week of July 7-13.
