THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Crivitz Rescue Offers Suicide Awareness
Issue Date: July 3, 2019
Crivitz Rescue Squad will host Q.P.R. Suicide Awareness trainings. Suicide has been rising in nearly every state, according to the latest Vital Signs report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In 2016, nearly 45,000 Americans age 10 or older died. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death and is one of just three leading causes that are on the rise.
The squad will host two different training sessions. The first offering is Saturday, Aug. 17 from 8 to 10 am and the second is Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 5 to 7 pm. Both classes will be held at the Crivitz Rescue Squad Station.
The training is for anyone interested in spotting the signs of a suicidal crisis, questioning, persuading and referring the individual to counseling. The cost is $3 to cover training materials. The cost will be due the day of the training.
If interested call 715-854-7666. There are a limited amount of spots available each date. If there is more interest after the spots are filled the Crivitz Rescue may add more opportunities.
