Nine Members at Auxiliary Meet

Crivitz"The American Leigon Auxiliary 413 June meeting was called to order by President Marian Wankowski, with nine members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and "God Bless America" was sung led by President Wankowski. Chaplain Helen Franzen led in prayer, followed by moment of silence for deceased. Preamble to Constitution and American Legion Auxiliary Mission Statement were recited. Roll call of members was given by secretary and last month's meeting minutes andt Wankowski read the treasurer's report due to excused absence of Treasurer Swanson. General fund $1619.56; Poppy Fund $5384.92; Petty Cash $2.42. During recent Poppy drive on Memorial Day weekend, $4262 was collected. Also Bakeless Bake Sale netted $385.
Committee report given by Helen Franzen about update on girls to Badger State. They were Kristen Stumbris and Samantha Sharkey.
Diane Duscheck sent updates on ALA Standing Rules. The Presidential Parade of Checks will be tabled until next meeting in July. There will be no meeting in August. Instead an informal gathering is planned at 5 pm at Post home with brats and hamburgers.
The 20/20 membership cards have error due to computer glitch. Blank cards instead will be used. The National ALA convention will be held in Indianapolis, IN. on Aug. 24-28 with a Celebration of Freedom in Columbia County, Portage on Sept 5-8. There will be food, games,music and also The Traveling Vietnam Wall will be present. Anyone who is interested in going, should contact Marian Wankowski.
She read a statement of qualifications for ALA membership. There was no unfinished business. Shirley Hendricks was appointed auxiliary secretary and Dorothy Franzen read a message regarding her great-grandson, Ty Franzen, 7th grader at Crivitz Schools.
In closing Franzen read prayer for Peace. The 50/50 was won by Mary Samsa.
