THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Thank You To Veterans"From The Village of Wausaukee
Issue Date: July 11, 2019
Last week Monday, the Village office was informed that our American Legion Post did not have enough able bodied members to march in this year's 4th of July Parade. Saddened by the news, the Village took to Facebook in an effort to try and find Veterans who were willing and able to lead our parade carrying our American Flag. We were absolutely floored by the outpouring of support we received. The post was shared 240 times and seen by over 18,000 people!! The Village would like to thank everyone for their efforts, but most especially, those Veterans who answered our call for help:
Ronald Rost " Wausaukee " Army, George Heck " Green Bay " Army, Gordon Pomeroy " Rock Island, IL " Army (active duty), Vernon Schroeder " Wausaukee " Air Force, Darryll Schmidt " Wausaukee " Army NG, Denis DeJardin " Amberg " Army NG, CJ Kellner " Green Bay " Air Force, William Wood " Wrightstown " Army, Terry McNulty " Forestville " Army, Joe O'Dill " Wausaukee " Army, David Tomasino " Wausaukee " USMC, Bob Haglund " Green Bay " Army, Jack Zore " Sheboygan Falls " Army, Geri Zore " Sheboygan Falls " Army, Travis Soletske " Suring " Army, Ben Tilleman " Green Bay " Army (active duty), Amanda Vertz " Wausaukee " Army, Brandon Lindsey " Peshtigo " Army, Ronald Holmes " Amberg " Army, Josh Johnston " Marinette, Bob Barron " Wausaukee " Army (WWII Jeep)
We are eternally grateful for your service to our Country, and we can't thank you enough for volunteering your time to help our small Village on Saturday. Watching you brave men and women lead our parade with the flag held high truly embodied the spirit of this holiday and will not soon be forgotten.
