Lena School Enrollment Increases by 35 Students

The Lena Board of Education held its regular meeting Monday, Sept. 9 at 6:30 pm.
Present were Lori Dufek, Charles Imig, Timothy A. Goldschmidt, David McNurlen, Ben Pytleski, and James Torzala. Ed Huberty was absent. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Consent items of Minutes, Agenda and Vouchers were approved.
Volunteer contracts were approved for Autumn Magee-Cheer, and Allyanna Demmith-Volleyball, tutoring contracts, and Start College Now classes for Alexis Misco for Sign Language.
The School District enrollment is up about 35 students with the final count on Sept. 20.
High/Middle School Principal James Torzala said there are about 20 new students at the middle school/high school. Students will STAR test this week. Homecoming is Sept. 16 with the powder puff football game/bonfire Wednesday, float building Thursday, and wacky Olympics/parade Friday with the game Friday night and the dance Saturday night.
Administrator/Elementary Principal Ben Pytleski said common in-service day is in Wausaukee, so all schools are going there. WASDA Conference is Sept. 18-20.
The Class of 1964 will tour the school on Sept. 14.
