Issue Date: September 26, 2019
According to the United States Justice Department, several tips were recieved in September of 2018 that Kristine Olson, 32, of Oconto was selling meth in Oconto County and the surrounding area. Drug investigators from several agencies, including Marinette and Oconto County Sheriff's Departments, began tracking her activities.
Investigators were watching as she and Benjamin McNamara, 33, also of Oconto, drove to Minnesota, where they reportedly made several multiple-ounce purchases of meth from Gregory Ives, 41, of Mounts View, Minnesota.
They were returning on Sept. 27, 2018, when police stopped them and found 250 grams of meth in their vehicle, the justice department said. Ives was later arrested for selling the drug to them.
U.S. District Judge William Griesbach, in Federal District Court in Green Bay, sentenced all three to terms in Federal prison after appearances earlier this month.
Ives and McNamara were each ordered to spend 10 years in prison. McNamara"s time in prison is to be followed by 10 years of supervised release, and Ives' time in prison is to be followed by five years on supervised release.
Griesbach sentenced Olson to six years in prison, followed by six years on supervised release.
