Barbara L. Seifert
Issue Date: October 10, 2019
Barbara "Barb" L. (Pape) Seifert, 81, of Mountain, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 after a battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 17, 1938, to the late Carl and Dolores Pape, she worked as a typist and receptionist and lived most of her life in Milwaukee until retiring with her husband Don to their home on the Lake.
She enjoyed time outdoors, camping and later, a cabin in the North Woods. With a kind heart, she was always there for her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend. In her children's younger years, she was a stay at home mom and was a good cook, especially of soups and cookies.
Interested in nutrition, she ordered the best seeds for her vegetable garden and planted ornamental plants with names that represented family members. She treated her children and grandchildren equally, was artistic, created paintings for each of her children and enjoyed painting china and Christmas ornaments. She knit sweaters, hats and mittens and also sewed clothes for her young children, including Halloween costumes.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Don; two children, Michael (Tess Davis) Seifert and Debbie (Jim) Denhardt; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a son-in-law, Steven Schelk.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Seifert.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 12 at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 1:30 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3:30 p.m., with Pastor Bill Krauss officiating. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her honor.
