Gary Melvin Jessel, 74, Marinette, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay surrounded by his loving family.
Born to Melvin Jessel and Betty Larson on Feb. 5, 1945, he grew up in Marinette until he enlisted in the service. When he returned from service he lived in Florida and then moved back to Marinette.
He worked as a building contractor, as he had a special talent for designing blueprints. He also loved to cook and spend time with his friends and family. He is remembered as a very generous, thoughtful and cheerful person.
Survivors include eight children, Gary Joe, Cheryl, Melissa, Roger, Joshua, Nicole, Kristina, and Alisha; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Wayne (Mary) Jessel of Marinette.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Tanna.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 9 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home, followed by a service and Military Honor Ceremony.
