Will Bieber (126), Karson Casper (138), John Bieber (182), Shamus McLain (195) and Brody Zahn (220) each won their respective weight classes for the Cougars.

After a bye, Will Bieber beat Southern Door's Dylan Wessel by tech fall, topped De Pere's Jared Fietz in a 7-1 decision and pinned Oshkosh North's Dylan Besaw in 4 minutes, 37 seconds.

Casper pinned Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln's Cole Ladick in four minutes, Princeton's Collin Schueler in 1:45 and finished the day with a 4-2 decision win over Andrew Lopez of De Pere, who holds a 26-2 record on the season after the loss.

John Bieber pinned all three of his opponents on the day to keep his undefeated record, 23-0 after three more wins. He beat De Pere's Zan Selner in 1:12, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln's Peter Rucker in 5:28 and Weyauwega-Fremont's Ben Strehlow in 4:16.

McLain, now 19-1 on the season, pinned all three of his opponents in quick fashion, beating Riley Phillips of Southern Door in 69 seconds, New London's De Evian Ross in 70 seconds and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln's Andrew Schutz in 65.

Zahn's day was a bit closer, but wins are wins and he got all the wins he needed to top the 220-pound class. He beat De Pere's San Hafner in a 6-3 decision, New London's Keaten Pues in a three-minute pin and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln's Josh Hansen by 6-2 decision to claim the title.

Four Cougars also took second in their respective weight classes.

Spencer Karban was second at 285. After a bye and two first-period pin victories over Waupaca's Kai Badgley and Sam Scheidegger of Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, he came up short against undefeated Cullen Quick of Menasha in the first-place match, losing by pin in 4:32.

Cole Klimek (170) was second in his class. He beat Princeton's Zach Lambert by 10-5 decision and Wabeno/Laona's Evan Townsend by pin in 4:47, but he lost a 3-1 decision to Random Lake's Samuel Schwabe in the final match of the bracket.

Tyler Blanchard (160) was also second. He pinned Southern Door's Drew DeFere in 3:11 and Casey Dykstra of Princeton in 40 seconds, but he was beaten by undefeated Aiden Vandenbush of Random Lake in a 7-0 decision in the first-place match.

Sam Kuchta pinned Oshkosh North's Landon Spanbauer in 2:32 and topped New London's Logan Heimbruch in a 12-9 decision, but he was on the losing end of a close decision in the championship, as he lost 7-5 to De Pere's Sam Bruss.

Ray Lemieux (113) went 3-1 with two major decisions and a pin of Southern Door's Alec Guilette in 3:09 to take third in his class, Chance Gruber went 2-2 with two decision wins and two decision losses by two points each to take fifth at 120, John Nowak was 2-3 with pin and decision victories to finish sixth at 106 and Jakob Horton (152) went 3-2 on the day to take seventh in his class, beating Menasha's Riley Olski by 19-10 tech fall, pinning Sturgeon Bay's Drew Barganz and topping Olski again in a 7-2 decision to finish off the day.

Peshtigo Drops Conference Duel With Kewaunee 48-24

Kewaunee picked up six forfeits on the day for 36 points, helping them to a comfortable conference win.

Peshtigo got one forfeit from Jon LaForce (106), while Mitchell Peters (160), Katelyn Lewis (170) and Kody Klimek (285) pinned their opponents in 1 minute, 26 seconds, a minute and 35 seconds and just 19 seconds, respectively.

Smith Leads Maroons at Kingsford Invitational

The Menominee Maroons tied for sixth place at the 12-team Ray Mariucci Wrestling Invitational in Kingsford on Monday.

Aidan Smith was the top Maroon on the day. After two byes, he pinned Munising's Bryce Bowerman in a minute and 46 seconds and topped Marquette's Luke Mead in a 4-2 decision to win the 135-pound weight class.

Kaeleb Crawford was third at 125. After two byes, he lost his first match to Munising's Reagan Bowerman by 10-5 decision, but he bounced back to pin his next two opponents in 50 seconds each: Florence's Josh Wysocki and Negaunee's Joseph McCollum.

Tyler Heuzinger (140) took third as well on a very busy day. Every one of his matches ended by pin, and he didn't have the benefit of any byes. Adam Conine (189) also wrestled for the Maroons.

Florence took 12th as a team, with Caitlyn Kelley leading the way, taking fourth in the 112-pound weight class. After two byes, Kelley lost to Marquette's Payton Holmstrom, rebounded to pin Joshua RIley of Bark River Harris in 1:59, but unfortunately couldn't finish the day, losing by injury default in the third-place match.

Josh Wyscoki (125), Andar Olson (145) and Gabe Wysocki (215) also wrestled for Florence.

State Ranked Spartans Down Marines 72-3

The highly ranked Luxemburg-Casco Spartans proved to be too much for a determined but over-matched Marinette Marine squad on Tuesday night 72-3. Isaiah Walker was the lone winner on the night for Marinette. Walker got off to a good start with two first period takedowns and defeated Lux-Casco's Luke Shefchik by a 4-1 decision.

In a tight match at 285 lbs. Marinette's Darik McMahon dropped a tight 3-1 decision to Lux Casco's Kyle Kroll in overtime. The match was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation with Kroll getting the takedown in the extra period. Marine Jonathon Bieber lost a hard fought battle with Spartan Ryan Routhiaux at 138 lbs. coming up on the short end of a 6-1 decision.
