June E. (Broese) Kingsbury, 98, of Mountain, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2020.
Born Nov. 6, 1921, to the late Frederich and Olive (Burton) Broese, she enlisted in the United States Marines on June 7, 1943 until Nov. 7, 1945, serving during World War II and was also stationed in Hawaii. She worked as a legal secretary and on Sept. 21, 1985, she married James Kingsbury.
In April 2012, she participated in the Never Forgotten Honor Flight. She enjoyed reading, time in nature, was a member of the Wisconsin Woodland Owner's Association, was an avid bird watcher and loved her cats and dogs.
She is survived by her husband, James Kingsbury; two step-children, Jolene (William) Kaczmarek and Amy (significant other, Tony Rogers) Kingsbury; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and cherished friends.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 from 1 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Bill Krauss officiating, followed by Military Honors. Memorials can be made in her honor to the Wisconsin Woodland Owner's Association.
