Floyd "John Brown" Cappaert, 89, of Stephenson, Mi., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020 at Roubal Care and Rehab Center.
Born July 14, 1930 in Stephenson, to the late Peter and Elizabeth (Wangerin) Cappaert, he married the former Alice Smaglick on Sept. 3, 1949 at Precious Blood Church in Stephenson. He worked for the Menominee County Road Commission for 36 years, retiring in 1990 as foreman.
He was known as the man who could fix anything! He loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling and playing cards, but mostly cherished time with his grandsons. He was a lifetime member of Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Alice of Stephenson; two daughters, Gloria Cappaert and Barbara (Jeremiah Foos) Cappaert, both of Stephenson; two grandsons; nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Private funeral services will be held, with burial in Stephenson Township Cemetery. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home of Stephenson is assisting the family with arrangements.
