Woman's Club Offers Scholarships
Issue Date: March 5, 2020
Any woman from Crivitz or the adjacent area, who has already graduated from high school and is returning to or continuing education beyond high school, is eligible for a scholarship offered by the Crivitz Area Woman's Club. One of the scholarships is open to members from the Crivitz Area Woman's Club.
The applicant must seek admission to a program at a vocational, technical, or academic school. Before the award is given, a letter of acceptance into one of these schools needs to be presented to the Scholarship Committee Chairperson. Scholarship money will be sent directly to the institution the recipient plans to attend.
It is not the intent of this scholarship to be used for continuing credits for licensing/certification renewals.
The scholarship is based on the firm rule that the recipient will attend the school beginning in the year in which the scholarship is received. Should the individual be unable to do so, the award will be returned to the Club. An exception will be made to the ruling regarding the time of entrance to the school of her choice if she is enrolled in a reserve unit of any branch of the services of the U.S. Government and this would delay her entrance until the beginning of the following year. She is still qualified for the scholarship.
The application must be received by April 13 and two scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded.
A recipient is not eligible to apply again in any subsequent year. Scholarship judges will be the members of the CAWC Scholarship Committee including the chair.
Applications are available at the Crivitz NWTC office and from the Scholarship Committee Chairperson. Completed applications should be returned to: Crivitz Area Woman's Club, c/o Veronica Taylor-Pepin, Scholarship Committee Chairperson, 302 Hall Ave., Crivitz, WI 54114-1442.
