Lena School Staff Serves 507 at Supper
Issue Date: March 18, 2020
Lena-The 38th Annual Lena School Staff Spaghetti Supper was a huge success and due to the overwhelming turnout scholarships will be given to three seniors. Over 507 people were served and $3,000 was netted.
The staff thanks everyone involved in making the event a success. Shirley Kushava did most of the cooking, Denise Deihlmann, along with the other kitchen staff were a big help, the National Honor Society students and everyone on staff also assisted.
Profit is largely in part because of the donations received from the community. Saputo Cheese donated string cheese to put on each plate, Jagiello Dairy Farm gave 40 pounds of hamburger for the sauce. Meat donations came from Thompson's County Market in Oconto and Pelkin's Piggly Wiggly in Coleman. Witt's Piggly Wiggly in Oconto Falls donated various grocery items and McGuire's Sports Bar donated ice and to-go containers.
Also thanked are anyone else who assisted in any way. They hope to continue this tradition each March, as a fun community gathering, a delicious meal, and a good cause.
