Phyllis E. (Nesbit) Wilson, 82, of Marinette, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Aurora Baycare in Green Bay, surrounded by family.
Born July 26, 1937, to the late William and Mary (McNeil) Nesbit in Detroit, she graduated from Gould City High School in 1955 and Sault Ste. Marie College with an LPN degree in Nursing. In June of 1961, she married Charles Wilson in Gould City and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2009. She worked for many years at the Newberry State Hospital before working at the Jacobetti Veteran's Home in Marquette, Mi., where she finished her career, retiring in 1997. In 1998, she moved to Marinette and lived there since.
Survivors include two sons, KC (Tara) Wilson of Marinette and Greg (Barb) Wilson of Menominee; two daughters, Kim (Dennis) Quinlan of Newberry, Mi. and Patti (Don) Martz of Marinette; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Nesbit and two sisters, Gloria Nesbit and Barbara Nesbit all of Newberry.
Including her parents and husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roger.
Visitation will be held at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph's Church on Carney Boulevard on Thursday, March 19 from 10 a.m. until time of a Funeral Mass at 11a.m., with Rev. Celestine Byekwaso officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Newberry. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial fund in her honor has been set up for the Menominee County Animal Shelter.
