Hazel Mae (Rasner) Peterson, 96, formerly of Menominee, Mi., passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
Born April 20, 1923 in the Greenwoods area of Wallace, Mi., to the late Paul and Myrtle (Hanson) Rasner, she graduated from Stephenson High School. She married Burrill W. Peterson on Sept. 18, 1943 and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1979. She later married Harold Denman on July 23, 1983 and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1991.
A member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee, she was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1887, worked as a CNA at Marinette General Hospital and was a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels.
She was the life of the party and enjoyed being with family and friends, playing cards, bingo and was willing to play any kind of game, whether she knew it or not. She had a total of 103 grandchildren and knew everyone of their birthdays and anniversaries.
Survivors include a son, Keith (Deborah) Peterson; seven daughters, Patricia (Jay) Addington, Judith (Jim) Weissmann, Charlotte Peterson, Marilynn (Leon) Olson, Darlene Kunde, Kathleen Peterson and Lori (George) Caylor; 29 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren and other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and both husbands, Burill Peterson and Harold Denman, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Hyer on Oct 4, 2012.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Cadieu Funeral Home of Menominee is assisting the family.
