Rockford B. Ritchie, 70, of Goodman, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Born July 4, 1949, in Stambaugh, Mi., to the late Evert C. and Edwina (Martin) Ritchie, he married Sawnie Bagley on Nov. 17, 1972 in Jackson, Wy., where he worked in the woods and also did many different handyman jobs.
They moved to Goodman in 1977, where he worked at the Goodman Mill for 17 years and also as a logger during that time and beyond. Together they started delivering the Advertiser newspaper in 2012 and she continues to do so. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Pembine.
He enjoyed hunting deer and partridge, going to camp, fishing, going out to eat and visiting, but especially time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sawnie Ritchie; a son, Travis (Debi) Ritchie, Bakersville, N.C.; a daughter, Tata Luellen, Oak Creek; five brothers, James (Idalis) Ritchie, Brian (Kim) Ritchie and Jonathan (Lia) Ritchie, all of Long Lake, Michael (Lauyana) Ritchie, Wabeno and Mark (Barbara) Ritchie, Blackwell; two sisters, Wanda (Dennis) Schwind, Wauseon, Oh. and Loretta (Roger) Montambo, Stambaugh, Mi. and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Barker.
