Stephen G. Parrish, 77, of Marinette passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 after a four year battle with cancer, with family by his side.
Born May 12, 1942 in Sturgeon Bay, to the late Steven and Marion (Ferris) Parrish, he graduated from Marinette High School in 1960. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart and was honorably discharged on April 13, 1966. On May 3, 1975, he married Marlene Hofer at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Wallace. He worked at Waupaca Foundry, from where he retired after many years.
He enjoyed hanging out with his grandchildren, fishing, sitting on his deck and the wildlife around his home.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marlene of Marinette; two daughters, Tara (Scott) Poquette of Peshtigo and Lori (Michael) Straitt of Marinette; five grandchildren; a sister, Jacquie Cornell of Ogdensburg and her son; four sisters-in-law, Hazel Maki, Pat (Frank Jr.) Sabowski, Carol (Doug) Klein and Debbie (Brian) Panske; two brothers-in-law, Ken (Milly) Hofer and Doug (Joan) Hofer and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel; two brothers-in-law, William Cornell and Ray Maki and a sister-in-law, Bev Culliton.
A private family visitation will be held for the immediate family at Thielen Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for friends and extended family.
