Donald Keith Michaelson, 88, of Pound, passed away at 3:15 PM Tuesday, April 28, 2020 in Greenville, S.C.
Born April 18, 1932, to the late Clarence and Isabel Michaelson of Winnebago County, Ia., he married Arlene Mattrisch in 1960 and she preceded him in death in March of 2009. He served in the United States Army in Fort Bragg N.C. from 1953-1955 during the Korean War.
An ordained Assembly of God Minister for over 35 years, he pastored several Churches in his lifetime in Northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He also worked as a welder at Marinette Marine for 30 years.
He loved ministry, people, prayer, worship, time with his children and grandchildren, golfing, playing dominoes with friends and family, Packer football, Brewer baseball, deer hunting and working outdoors on his 80 acre farm in Pound. He attended Hillside Assembly of God for the last decade prior to moving to South Carolina with his family.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Ann (Gary) Johnson of Simpsonville, S.C.; four grandchildren of South Carolina; siblings, Cal Michaelson, Alan Michaelson, Paul Michaelson, Sharon Johnson, Phyllis Thomas and Dorothy Edwards; a nephew and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by a son, Craig Mark Michaelson of Pound who passed away in February of 1982; a brother, Mervin Michaelson; a sister, Ione Nienoord; a nephew, Bradley Mattrisch who passed away April 1, 2020 and a brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Jackie Mattrisch of Pound.
