THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Mindy L. Malke
Issue Date: May 20, 2020
Mindy Lee Malke, age 38, of Peshtigo, died unexpectedly on May 16, 2020.
She was born on June 5, 1981 to Carl and Catherine (Tobin) Malke. Mindy loved spending time with her dad, whether it be hunting, fishing or cutting wood. She enjoyed her time working at Arbors Village with her coworkers and residents. She also loved to cook.
For Mindy, her daughters Carley and Laurel were the most important thing in her life. Just being with them and spending time meant the world to her. She loved watching Carley play volleyball. Carley is also taking after her mom and dad with her love of hunting. Everyone shot a prize keeper buck last year.
Mindy is survived by her parents, Carl and Catherine; her daughters, Carley Catherine and Laurel Linn; a sister, Haley; a brother, Kyle; an aunt, Linn Tobin and the love of her life, Jeremy Carlson, her best friend. Mindy always said he would be her husband. They were meant for each other. They hunted, went fishing, camping and loved spending time together. He was always very supportive of Mindy and the girls.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William (Joan) Tobin and Walter (Betty) Malke and an uncle, Pat Tobin.
You raise your children, you don't bury them. The hardest thing we have had to do is to write about Mindy's life. An entire life. There is so much we would like to write. The mother daughter times we shared together, I will cherish the rest of my life, but I am also thinking ahead for the times she won't be here, helping her daughters pick out their wedding dresses, or holding her first grandchild.
Private family services will be held. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo is serving the family.
