Crivitz/Stephenson Set Virtual Zoning Hearing
Issue Date: May 27, 2020
At a virtual "Zoom" meeting with no one present in person, members of the joint Town of Stephenson/Village of Crivitz Extraterritorial Zoning (ETZ) Committee accepted some final changes to the proposed ETZ ordinance, including one to allow hobby farms with up to 150 "animal units" as an accepted use and small farming operations as conditional uses. As originally proposed, there would have been no permitted use for raising animals.
They then set a public hearing on the zoning ordinance for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, to be followed immediately by an ETZ Committee meeting to accept the proposed ordinance, and then a Crivitz Village Board meeting to adopt it. There is a possibility that small changes could be made as a result of the hearing before final adoption.
The ordinance affects all properties within a mile and a half of the Crivitz Village limits.
Despite the fact that Stay At Home orders issued as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic have been lifted, the ETZ Committee agreed to hold agreed to hold a virtual public hearing via Zoom, without provisions for members of the public to comment in person. Written comments will be accepted prior to the hearing. They may be mailed or e-mailed to Crivitz Village Clerk, P. O. Box 727, Crivitz, WI. 54114 or email@example.com.
Documents relative to the public hearing can be obtained upon request at the Crivitz Village hall prior to the meeting.
