Helen M. (Reilly) Carlson, 91, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020.
Born Oct. 13, 1928 in Chambersburg, Pa., one of six children, to Mary C Reilly and William F Reilly, she grew up in Chambersburg where she loved working at Molly Pitcher Waffle Shop. She met Roland (Rollie) Carlson from Menominee, Mi. while he was stationed at Letterkenny Army Depot outside of Chambersburg.
After his discharge from the United States Army, they relocated back to Menominee and had one son, Jeffery. She worked at Emerson Electric until her retirement and enjoyed many years of camping with her husband and son.
She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Always ready for a good time while visiting friends, playing card games and her trips to "The Island", she was loved by all who knew her and will always be remembered for her passion to help others, her quick wit, endless energy, sharp mind and all her wisdom. She was known to many as "The Mayor of Bridgeview" where she lived for 18 years until her death.
Survivors include her son, Jeffery (Terry) Carlson of Stephenson Mi.; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; extended family, Ross (Tiffany) Hennekens and their children, Ryker, Teagan and Reidrick, of Black Creek and Ryan (Kathryn) Hennekens and their daughter, Eloise, of Glendale.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rollie and all of her siblings.
Per her wishes, a private family service will be held and burial will be next to her husband in Daggett Cemetery.
