Coleman Fire Cancels Picnic, Raffles Still On

The Coleman Firefighters announce the 25th Annual Coleman Area Volunteer Fire Department Picnic is cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The decision was made with an abundance of caution. The Coleman Fire Picnic has a huge impact on the community, it's businesses, the firefighters, and many others. To ensure the safety of all their friends, family and volunteers and make sure the Firefighter Picnic remains viable in future years, Coleman Fire voted on Tuesday, June 16th to cancel until next year. The Cash Raffle and Lawn Tractor Raffle will go on as planned.
The Lawn Tractor Raffle is at 6 pm on July 18th at the Coleman Park. Tickets for the John Deere E120 Lawn tractor are available at Coleman Shell, The Cottage Bar and Grill, The Brass Clippers, Gendron's, Cheers Too, and other area businesses and from Coleman Firefighters. The Cash Raffle, $1000 first prize, only 200 tickets sold, 20 total cash prizes, will also go on as planned with the drawing at 9 pm on July 18 at the Coleman Park. Tickets for the Cash Raffle are available at Fortier's, Cheers Too, the Cottage Bar and Grill, The Brass Clippers, and from Coleman Firefighters. If interested in supporting Coleman Fire to help offset the lost income from the picnic, donations are accepted and tax deductible. Money earned, goes towards equipment purchases.
Planning has already started for the 2021 Coleman Fire Picnic on July 17.
Coleman Fire thanks all the businesses in the Coleman-Pound area who helped in the past. Also, they thank the Parade Committee, which is headed up by Police Chief Ida Solestski for their work thru the years.
