Issue Date: September 30, 2020
Marian Theresa Zajac, 91, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020.
Born in Wausaukee, to Michael and Sally (Broz) Zajac, she graduated from Wausaukee High School in 1947 and worked at ADT Security Systems as a secretary for 42 years starting in the Detroit, Mi. office for 27 years, transferring to the Milwaukee office where she worked the remaining 15 years of her career. She maintained friendships with many of her coworkers through the years and also kept in touch with classmates.
She enjoyed making traditional Polish dishes like pierogi, stuffed cabbages and braided egg bread and was happy to share her recipes with others as well as offer them hands-on instruction on how to make the dishes. Pies and cheesecakes were her specialty and always had a sweet treat on hand that she made. A member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church, she often offered her baked goods for Church functions and often led the weekly rosary group. She was a member of the St. Isidore Society of the Polish National Alliance for many years. Her Polish heritage was important to her and connecting with relatives in Poland during a trip there, accompanied by her two sisters, made wonderful memories.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Lane of West Bend and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Walter, Joseph, John and Martin; a sister, Helen Zajac; relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held at Roubal Funeral Home, 513 First Street, Wausaukee on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020 from 11 a.m. until time of praying the Rosary together, followed by a Mass at noon, officiated by Fr. Frederick Sserugga. Proper precautions will be taken for Covid-19 when indoors and masks will be required. Burial will follow and all are invited to join the family at Evergreen Cemetery in Wausaukee. In lieu of flowers, a donation or Mass offering in her name to St. Augustine Catholic Church in Wausaukee are appreciated.
