Diane Lopez, 75, of Goodman, passed away in her sleep Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020 after a long battle with COPD.
Born, July 28, 1944 in Goodman, she also lived in Beloit, Kankakee, Ill. and Rockford, Ill.
She enjoyed photography, singing, creating personalized greeting cards, computer games and playing cards and board games with family and friends. She loved making people laugh and telling jokes, even while she was sick. Her laugh and personality lifted the spirits of friends and family.
Survivors include her mother, Lucille Nickel of Arizona; daughters, Debbie Dwyer and Audra (Lane) Howerton, both of Paragould, Ark.; a brother, Larry Engel; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild and many step-children and step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Engel; her husband of 35 years, Michael C. Lopez; a sister, Jeannie Pagelow and a grandson, Blake Howerton.
A graveside service will take place at Goodman Cemetery on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m., with Ralph Wilson officiating. Jacobs Lundholm Funeral Home and Crematory of Florence is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences or tributes can be made at www.JacobsFuneralHomes.com
