Leonard Harold Semrau was received into the arms of Jesus on October 19, 2020 at the homestead of his birth.
He was born on July 26, 1934 at the family home to Charles and Anna (Jergens) Semrau. Leonard was baptized on August 8, 1934, confirmed on May 2, 1948 and married on June 30, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coleman.
Leonard married his love and best friend, Donna Broderick.
The marriage was blessed and he is survived by three children, Lisa (Dennis) Brault, Mark (Catherine) Semrau and Thomas (Kerri) Semrau; four grandchildren, Matthew (Stacy) Brault, Elizabeth (Eric) Podoski, Taylor (Kelsey) Semrau, and Evan Semrau; three great-grandchildren, Lana, Bruce and Ava Podoski; brothers-in-law, Charles (Joanne) Broderick and Glen (Bonnie) Broderick and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and two sisters.
Leonard entered the Army in January 1959 and served with the 5th Army 267th Signal Company for six years. He then worked the family farm. He also worked for the Greatz Mfg Co., plastered homes with the late Jake VanLarhoven, Scott Paper Co in Oconto Falls and also for the Town of Pound. He was voted as Town of Pound Supervisor and served for 18 years.
He lived everyday as a blessing from God, with courage, kindness and honesty. These traits were evident in his daily hard work and love of family, as well as courtesy and ready smile he had for everyone.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 23rd at Zion Lutheran Church in Peshtigo from 9:30 am until time of Memorial services at 10:30 am with Pastor Luke Myslik officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Coleman with military honors.
