County Hires New Deputy

Heather Rombach, 28, started work on Monday, Oct. 5, as the newest deputy with Marinette County Sheriff's Department.
"I greatly appreciate being chosen for the position of deputy sheriff and am hoping to make a difference in the community," Rombach said of her new job, and added, "I also look forward to meeting more people in Marinette County.
Rombach graduated from Gresham High School in 2010, and then studied at UW-Green Bay and UW-Stevens Point, where she earned her degree in 2015. She will train for 14 weeks in the Field Training Program.
The new officer said she loves basketball, hunting, fishing and all outdoor recreation.
During her days as a student Rombach worked three summers the DNR's Parks Division, and from 2016 until early 2019 she worked as a Corrections Officer at the Marinette County Jail. She and her husband, Dale Rombach, were married in August of 2019, and live in Wausaukee. He is a Conservation Warden with Wisconsin DNR, and works out of its ranger station in Wausaukee.
