Bulldogs/Marines Compete at Seymour Invitational

Area Cross-Country

Marinette and Peshtigo competed at the Seymour Invite on Thursday.

Marinette's girls took 12th of 15 teams at the invite. Freedom, Appleton North and Ashwaubenon were the top three girls teams, respectively.

Of 118 runners, Hadley Reines was 29th (21:11.6), Addison Lacy took 74th (22:31.1), Madison Kunick took 77th (22:39.3), Ava Dahlman was 79th (22:40.2), Molly Knutson took 82nd (22:48.7), Karissa Valitchka took 111th (25:56), Lauren Sadowski took 114th (26:46.7) and Makenzie Hebert was 117th (29:07.2).

Peshtigo's girls took 13th. Holly Pesch took 17th (20:31.8), Sydney Lund was 38th (21:19.1), Alaina Archambault placed 107th (24:32.4), Arikka Carroll was 109th (25:12.9).

Green Bay Preble, Appleton North and Shawano Community were the top boys teams. Neither Marinette nor Peshtigo had enough runners for a full team score.

For Peshtigo, Logan Smith was 22nd of 133 runners (17:55.2), Andrew Nelson was 49th (18:33.9), Cole Grabian took 116th (20:30.9) and Reese Yunke was 121st (20:58.8).

Marinette's David Jezowski was 55th (18:37.9), Jackson Draheim was 96th (19:55.2), Dillion Hebert was 130th (21:59.3) and Aaron Peterson took 133rd (27:49.8).

Teams at Russ

Fameree Classic


The Coleman, Oconto and Oconto Falls cross country teams competed at the Russ Fameree Cross Country Classic in Luxemburg-Casco on Friday.

Oconto Falls' boys were fifth of 12 teams at the event. Two Rivers, Kewaunee and Kiel were the top three teams in the standings.

Falls' Joe Adams took second of 96 runners overall with a time of 17 minutes, 19.61 seconds. Ben Adams was 13th (18:13.53), Grant Yuma was 37th (19:28.92), Griffin Kopke took 50th (20:09.99), Brant Laluzerne took 51st (20:15.31) and Emerson Rice was 55th (20:20.83).

The Panther girls took fourth of 14 teams, behind only Kiel, Two Rivers and Lux-Casco. Brooke Hodkiewicz was ninth of 108 runners (21:06.55), Hannah Ludemann took 10th (21:07.74), Hailey Delzer placed 14th (21:59.11), Maddy Przybylski was 39th (23:21.57), Ava Hodkiewicz was 63rd (24:52.01), Sydney Bell was 68th (25:09.83), Brooke Senn was 78th (26:39.19) and Helen Marquardt was 86th (27:54.69),

The Coleman boys took seventh. Karson Casper took 12th (18:12.47), Alex Rennie was 25th (18:58.54), Isaiah Nowak took 43rd (19:56.99), Ray LeMieux was 45th (19:57.15), John Nowak came in 56th (20:25.75), Tyler Rennie was 57th (20:32.17), Conner Markiewicz was 68th (21:16.15) and Brenden Battag was 87th (23:04.17).

Coleman's girls were ninth. Kiersten Jensen took 30th (22:46.87), Corrin Liptak was 36th (23:06.07), Paige Nowak took 76th (26:07.55), Sylvia Fochesato took 94th (29:02.02) and Katie Nowak took 96th (29:17.41).

Oconto did not have enough runners for a team score in either race. For the Oconto girls, Betsy Finger was 54th (24:21.78), Maggie Sohrweide was 62nd (24:51.41), Ellie Finger took 72nd (25:36.32) and Maddelyn Oliva was 106th (31:59.38).

For the boys, Braden Shallow took 77th (22:03.7), Daniel Alwin was 82nd (22:25.13) and Christian Koch came in 91st (24:21.20).

Big Schools at Jim

Newman Invite


Gillett competed at the Wisconsin Rapids Jim Newman Invite on Saturday, taking on representatives from throughout Wisconsin.

In the boys race, Stevens Point, West Salem and Marshfield occupied the top three spots, in that order. Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, Sun Prairie and West Salem were the top three girls teams.

Gillett's girls were ninth in the field of 15 teams. Of 114 runners, Gillett's Carleigh Kaczmarek took 10th with a time of 20 minutes, 55 seconds. Angela Mosconi was 14th (21:17), Kasey Hansen was 51st (23:07), Laney DeBauch took 78th (24:09), Cheyenne Krueger was 79th (24:09), Lily Hansen took 98th (25:09), Amber Brehmer came in 111th (28:58) and Megan Wagner rounded out the Tigers with a 112th-place finish (29:12).

For the 12th-place Gillett boys, Alex Peterson took eighth (16:55). There were 118 individuals and 16 teams in the race.

Evan Peterson took 30th (18:13), Scott Herroux was 105th (22:31), Zander Davis placed 107th (22:36) and Virgil Herzog placed 118th (27:34).



Maroons Run

at Gladstone

Farmhouse Invite


Menominee competed at the Gladstone Farmhouse Invite on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Menominee's boys were fifth of six teams at the event, won by Marquette, which had six of the top seven runners in the race. Gladstone's Drew Hughes won the race with a time of 16 minutes, 47 seconds. Gladstone took third and Escanaba was second as a team.

Menominee's top finisher was Aden Short, who took 20th of 42 runners with a time of 21 minutes, 24.7 seconds.

Brock Murphy took 24th (21:47.7), Ethan Howarth was 26th (21:52), Evan Casey placed 28th (21:57) and Daniel Birch was 30th (22:17.4). Dawson Allgeyer was 32nd (22:36.3) and Steven Zavala was 33rd (22:48.1).

Marquette's girls were also victorious. There were only four full teams in that race, with Gladstone, Escanaba and Kingsford taking second, third and fourth.

Menominee did not have a full five-runner team. Attica Brandt took seventh (22:57.7), Hayden Buck was 16th (24:45.3) and Mikakah Mead took 18th (25:59.1).
