THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Give Tour of Remodeled Rescue Squad Building
Issue Date: November 17, 2021
The Nov. 9 meeting of the Pound Woman's Club was held at the newly renovated Coleman Area Rescue Squad building. Two monetary donations were given to two local service men. Recipients, Connor and Noah Tieman, are the grandsons of club member Barbara Martens. Members were also reminded about Veteran's Day, Nov. 11.
The Christmas party on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Bob & Laura's Supper Club at 1 p.m. will be for members and a guest. Reservations can be made with Karen Lasater, Mona Lipinski, or Nancy Rosner. A $5 gift exchange will occur. Members are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items for the Pound Food Pantry.
The little book library in the Coleman Park will be supplied with new books, especially children's, donated by Jan White. Hostesses for the meeting were Barbara Martens and Karen Lasater.
Following the meeting, Ida Soletske, a member of the Coleman Rescue Squad, gave club members a tour of the newly remodeled Rescue Squad Building. Temporary living quarters were added to accommodate volunteers who (when on call) and live beyond a 5 mile radius, can stay in the building for faster service. Offices and supply rooms were renovated. Members were informed of new guidelines for the Coleman Squad. The Rescue Squad always welcomes new volunteers who are willing to give of their time. A monetary donation by club members was given to the rescue squad.
